TerraTrike Spyder E+ — Sizing Guide (X-Seam)

TerraTrike trikes are sized by X-seam (not inseam). Your X-seam determines whether the boom/seat adjustment will fit you comfortably.

What is X-seam?

The distance from your lower back to the soles of your feet when seated with your legs extended.

How to measure your X-seam

  1. Sit on the floor with your back flat against a wall.

  2. Put on the shoes you’d ride in.

  3. Extend your legs straight out.

  4. Place a book/box flat against the bottoms of your feet.

  5. Measure from the wall to the front edge of the book/box.

  6. That measurement (in inches) is your X-seam.

Spyder E+ fit range

  • X-seam range: 41" – 47"

Quick fit check after adjustment

  • At full pedal extension, your knee should have a slight bend (never locked out).

  • No hip rocking while pedaling (rocking usually means the boom is too far out).

  • You should be able to spin smoothly without feeling cramped at the top of the stroke.
